T2 Partners – Another Hedge Fund Perspective

I know that Hedge Funds have taken a bad rap recently, but one I really respect is T2 Partners. It is run by Whitney Tilson and Glenn Tongue. I have referred to them before. In one of my early posts on Bearish Real Estate News, I discussed their presentation on the real estate market and their book, More Mortgage Meltdown: 6 Ways to Profit in these Bad Times, but more importantly they are the movers behind the Value Investing Congress, the must attend Value Investing Conference, something I have discussed a few times.
They have recently released their annual report explaining that this was their best year ever. Awesome! They are forthright and honest in their self appraisal, very much in the Buffett mode. And they are big fans of Berkshire Hathaway’s, which they think is undervalued. The annual report is an interesting mix of Macro discussion, self analysis and detailed description of their major long positions and a mention of their major short positions, which include treasuries. It is worth checking out.
